Tooth care and an excellent oral hygiene regime should start when teeth first form in the mouth. Teeth formation can be as early as five months old since teeth become prone to infections by oral bacteria as soon as they emerge in the mouth.

Prevention of dental disease is the key to better oral health. Good oral hygiene care should start in early childhood if it becomes a lifelong routine and leads to better dental health in later life.

Children who become our patients from early years are educated on dental disease. They are also taught the correct tooth brushing technique for both electric and manual toothbrushes.

Permanent teeth are protected from decay by fissure sealant procedures carried out early - on newly emerged teeth. Fissure sealants are protective coatings placed on the eating (occlusal) surfaces of teeth. In most cases, children who have fissure sealants placed early grow into adulthood without the need for fillings
